The Gratitude Community

So the reason I decided to revive my blog was so that I could publicly join The Gratitude Community:

holy experience

I read about The Gratitude Community on Ann Voskamp’s blog: Holy Experience. In one of her posts she wrote this: “A heart is a one-feeling dwelling; gratitude evicts stress, sends frustration packing.”

I’ve been stressed. I’ve been frustrated. And I’ve been sad. Time to sweep those things out of my heart and invite gratitude in. And so my list begins (technically, I think the posts are supposed to go up on Mondays, but I'm not being legalistic about this):

#1: Christmas. God made man. Emmanuel. God with us. Come to earth to taste our sadness, He whose glories knew no end.
#2: No line at the post office at lunchtime during December.
#3: Hanging out with Fran.
#4: An elder willing to make time to shepherd a young man=evidence of God’s blessing.
#5: Christmas music
#6: Snow softly falling outside my window
#7: Electricity—cause I really miss it when it’s gone.
#8: That the tiniest bit of light overcomes the darkness
#9: Strength to shovel
#10: Old gospel hymns
#11: My Bible study
#12: A son who sits at the piano on a day when the power is out and blesses me with his music
#13: Believing parents and in-laws who pray faithfully for my children.
#14: Heat
#15: Light—it shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overcome it. Those walking in darkness have seen a great light.
