Just This

Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down . . . Isaiah 64:1

It's one of those weeks, dear friends, when I've grown tired of walking by faith and not by sight, when my heart is truly longing for all things being made new.  Weeks like this make me want to skip the whole practice of giving thanks.

Weeks like this are when thanksgiving is so important.

837.  The return of the Swede.
838.  With good stories to tell.
839.  Pastor being there for the hard conversation.
840.  And following up with a phone call.
841.  Return of a friend from far away.
842.  Being the token old lady at lunch with the girls.
843.  Dinner with old friends--beautiful setting, good food, rich conversation.
844.  Guests for husband's famous chili.
845.  Grandparents who are willing to go the distance.  Literally.  Even as far as Chicago.
846.  Making new friends in blog world
847.  And keeping the old
848.  Who have become the kind of friends I can ask to pray
849.  Knowing that they will.  And have.
850.  A helpful conversation that seemed pre-ordained.  Because it was.

Nancy, I am sorry for your difficult week but trust that God is even now keeping His promise to work all things to your good. Because you have definitely been called.

Your voice matters to so many of us.

I will be praying for you! (((hugs)))

I understand; I really do. I felt a little angry about giving thanks today as well, but (like you) did anyway. Now I'm heading outdoors to run it out.

Smiling and waving,

Do keep the faith. Satan is at work. You will look back on this and see that God was working on your behalf, although that is not clear to you now---it will be, I promise. Blessings.

I know it doesn't seem so right now, but these are just bumps in the road. All will come right. You'd better keep your old friends. ;)

Lady, you are far from a token old lady. The thanksgiving comes hard at times yet the sacrifice of praise brings joy. Glad you could list them even in the hard weeks.
