Because sometimes life doesn't make sense and I'm not always sure what it is God is up to. I count the gifts to remind myself that God is good, that God is faithful, that His ways are higher than my ways.
Continuing to number the gifts (and to introduce another really happening blog friend):

420. This post by Jodi at Curious Acorn which encouraged me so much this week. Being reminded that what the world calls a disability may actually be gift—to be used for God’s glory. Do check her out, friends. She rocks my socks.
421. Perfect summer evenings.
422. An acoustic duo playing an evening concert in a local vineyard; families with lawn chairs and tables and picnic dinners; curly-haired girls in sundresses; children doing handstands.
423. An early anniversary dinner in a quintessentially New England barn-turned-restaurant; a hayride; sheep and donkeys and cows in the pasture.
424. Fresh New England corn chowder made from ears picked early in the day.
425. Hearing my son and his friend play their acoustic guitars together.
426. Mission team report-back Sunday.
427. After-church picnics = somebody feeds me and I get a true Sabbath rest!
428. Antibiotics
429. The pharmacy having a free antibiotic promotion.
430. A forecast of several cloudy days when required to stay out of the sun due to antibiotics.
431. Newlyweds getting jobs.
432. A teenage son willing to volunteer at VBS.
433. Grandparents who provide opportunities both to do productive work and to serve them.
434. Getting the contract.
435. Daily bread and being reminded where it comes from.
436. Painful, broken hallelujahs.
437. Getting a new printer as an early birthday present because the almost-brand-new-one died.
438. Getting the new printer connected to the wireless network without having to use duct tape or my angry words.
