
44. Extended family in the area with whom we can celebrate.
45. A brother who, in the tradition of our dad, makes and displays a life-sized cutout of Santa in his front yard to greet us on Christmas Eve.
46. Not getting into too much trouble by giving betta fish to the nieces and nephews!
47. Christmas Eve conflict that reminds me that Christ came to heal our brokenness. Recognizing that we can't ruin Christmas. Because we are ruined, we need Christmas.

54. A sermon reference to my dad who, together with my brother, witnessed a no-hitter during a Pirate game. His question, “Do you realize what you’re seeing?” Do we realize what we’re seeing when we witness so great a salvation?
56. Quiet mornings.
57. Receiving an unsolicited hug from my son on Christmas Eve. Knowing it was the best gift of Christmas this year and what I wanted most.
